01

Start with local knowledge

Find the local club or school. Confirm access permission, seasonal restrictions, site rules and the level of experience expected. A beautiful photograph does not tell you whether a spot is suitable.

02

Water: look beyond the launch

Discuss wind direction, currents, tides, submerged hazards and a return plan with a local instructor. Offshore wind can carry water users away from shore. Do not use this guide to decide that a session is safe.

03

Air: use the official site briefing

Check current club guidance on launch and landing areas, airspace, access and restrictions. Get a local briefing before flying somewhere new. If your training or the conditions do not match the site, choose another day.
